Why burp suite has not worked with the lasted version of LDPlayer?

minhzu | Last updated: Jun 21, 2021 06:17PM UTC

Hi, I have installed and tried both version of LDPlayer 3.117 and 4.0.56 with the same config to track the post and get requests from apps. Problems is when I tried version 4.0.56 nothing happened in the tab Target > tab Sitemap (filters = show all results). Version 3.117 is working fine. But there are some apps only working with the 4. version and I need to track those apps. Please help me. Thanks in advance

Hi, Just to clarify, have you tested apps that are common between LDPlayer versions 3.117 and 4.0.56 so that we can rule out the issues that you are experiencing being down to the apps themselves rather than the setup you have between LDPlayer and Burp?

Hi, sorry for late reply. Yes, I have tested the same app in 3.117 and 4.0.56. And with the same config in Burp, I see only result on the Target > Sitemap when I interact with the app in LDplayer 3.117. On the Ldplayer 4.0.56 I have seen nothing, just blank.

Hi, Do you have the names of the apps that you have used to test this so that we can take a look ourselves?

Hi, Yes, the app's name is "Mua Bán" with the avatar of a newspaper and an orange background. You can find it on Playstore by typing "mua ban". Then you will see something like: Mua Ban - Rao vat mien phi Muaban JSC . Shopping This is an app for houses to sell, rent or for brand-new/old stuffs to trade.

Hi, I took a look at this and found similar issues to you - it looked as though the later version of LDPlayer was not adhering to the system proxy that I had set up. I had to install a further app, entitled ProxyDroid, in order to get this to work. This, essentially, forces all traffic to be sent out via the global proxy and I was able to get Burp to proxy traffic in this manner. Cheers Ben Wright Technical Product Specialist PortSwigger

Hi, Nice to hear that it works. Could you please show me how to make this work. I have tried with some config in ProxyDroid but still not work. Thanks

Hi, There are some good instructions for setting this up on the following page: https://proxys.io/en/blog/proxy-settings/setting-up-a-proxy-on-android-step-by-step-instructions I have not used LDPlayer before so cannot say whether the behavior has changed with the later versions of this tool but, as i noted in my last post, I simply could not get any traffic (either generated from the in-built browser or from apps) to proxy through Burp. Were you experiencing the same issue when you tried to proxy traffic from the in-built browser in the LDPlayer?

Hi, You would probably want to talk to the company that makes LD Player, if you are having issues installing their software: https://www.ldplayer.net/support/
