Can you provide further information about this issue? Are you copying the URL exactly as it appears? e.g. http://burpsuite/repeat/2/XXXXXX

Lab: Broken brute-force protection, multiple credentials per request Situation : At the end of lab, I right-click on the request and select "Show response in browser". I Copy the URL exactly as it appears and load it in my browser. The answer is "Unknown host : burpsuite" The url is like http://burpsuite/repeat/3/epmnkg.....(a bunch of chars) If you need I can redo the lab and recreate the url generated by Burp Suite Professional v2020.5 exactly as it is generated.

Thanks for that information. It looks like you are selecting 'Request in browser' instead of 'Show response in browser'. The latter should show a URL like (once you get the 302 response): http://burpsuite/show/1/XXXXX The only way I can generate the URL you mention is by using 'Request in browser': http://burpsuite/repeat/3/XXXXX. Are you pasting that URL into the same browser that you are running your lab on? (i.e. the one that is configured to work with Burp)

Am experiencing the exact same issue. Fails with both "show" and "repeat" options. Am using the Chromium browser within Burpsuite.

Are you experiencing this issue on one of the labs or in another scenario? Can you tell us a bit more about the steps you're taking when this happens and the version of Burp you are using, please?

Hi. Occurs on a client site scan scenario. Using Burpsuite Pro on Windows (latest version) and the in-app Chromium browser. No upstream HTTP Proxy (i.e. direct to Internet connection). Within Proxy --> HTTP History --> I grab a request and right-click for either "Show response in browser" or "Request in browser". Both options present a "http://burpsuite/...." URL, which, when copied, result in the burpsuite unknown host error within the in-app Chromium browser. Interestingly enough, I'm running Burpsuite CE on another system (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS) + in-app Chromium browser and I do not experience this issue.

Thanks for the update. I've just been trying to replicate the issue here (Windows 10 with the latest version of Burp Suite Pro) and I've not encountered the same problem. Would you be happy to share a screen recording or some screenshots via email so we can have another attempt at replicating this for you? If so, could you send them over to support@portswigger.net, please?

I've just sent an email, with screenshots, to Support. Tks. S

Is there any update on this issue ? Seems to be persistent for "Show response in browser" and "Request in browser" for both Current and Original browser sessions.

Hi Can you confirm which version of Burp you are using and your OS, please? Are you seeing this issue only when you use the "Show response in browser" and "Request in browser" options or does it also happen if you just browse to HTTP://burpsuite when using the embedded browser?

Hello, I am using Microsoft Edge v87 on Windows 10 Home with Burp Suite Community Edition Windows x64 v2020.11.3. Yes, I see this only when I use "Show response in browser and "Request in browser" options. No, it does not happen if I simply browse to http://burpsuite. I haven't used embedded browser.

Hi Is Edge set to use Burp as a proxy? Could you try using your embedded browser (Proxy > Intercept > Open browser) to open the link?

Hello Everyone, If you are still facing this issue then I have a solution to why this is happening? I faced the same issue in some labs and finally debugged it. The steps I was doing due to which this issue was occurring. I was using foxyproxy and it was set to 127.0.01:8080 To intercept the request I was turning it on and once I intercept, I was turning it off. I was doing all the tasks with the burp suite (brute-forcing etc). Finally, I was clicking on "Show response in browser". When I copy and paste the rule in the browser it was giving an error. And even it was redirecting to a website named as (http://www.inert.com/). So why this was happening. As we all know when we set up foxyproxy at 127.0.0.1:8080 Then By Placing the URL HTTP://burp we will redirect to the burp page(where we can download the cert). But this time I was placing this URL in the browser by turning off the foxy proxy, this time it doesn't know what is HTTP://burp is because we turned the FoxyProxy off. So when I turned the foxyProxy on and then pasted the URL then it started working. Why it was redirecting to http://www.inert.com because When we turn the foxyproxy off and type HTTP://burp then i consider it HTTP://burp.com now burp.com is owned by http://www.inert.com/ and burp.com is redirecting to http://www.inert.com/. So that is why it was redirecting. I hope this helped.
