Web Security Academy Issue

Haseeb | Last updated: Apr 30, 2019 06:48PM UTC

I'm reading the Web Application Hackers Handbook 2nd Edition. When i go to any of the "Try It!" links, all of them takes me to the academy home page. I'm not able to directly access each lab the page is asking me to try. For instance "http:/mdsec.net.auth/16/" or "http:/mdsec.net.auth/46/" and all the other links with different number's at the end of the url bring me to the same page preventing me from doing labs in book order. How can i access these lab links properly?

The labs for the Web Application Hackers Handbook (WAHH) 2nd Edition are no longer in use. The Web Security Academy has been created rather than providing a third edition of WAHH. This is because the content slowly becomes outdated. We'd advise you to go ahead and create an account with the Web Security Academy in order to learn up-to-date techniques. You should find a little more information at the following link: - https://portswigger.net/web-security/web-application-hackers-handbook

I have the same problem, I cannot access the Try It! labs. It is no problem for me if the content is outdated. I would like to try those Try It! exercises from the book anyway. Is there a location on the internet where I could try those Try It! lab exercises? I bought the book and hoped I would be able to try the exercises as the book suggests. I am already reading the book, it is very good but also very demanding technically and without those exercises the learning is very limited. It is a lot of theory and one really wants to try the exercises, too. Thank you.
