WCF Deserializer

Shane | Last updated: Mar 22, 2021 10:21AM UTC

I have installed this with a manual BApp install - the extension is showing as installed and active with no errors in the Error tab. I have also put the NBFS.exe in my Burp run folder as described here: https://github.com/PortSwigger/wcf-deserializer. Unfortunately I am not seeing the "Deserialised WCF" tab in the request or response windows when I click on the binary request in the Proxy History - just the unserialised characters in the Raw Tab. This was working for me a few months ago - have I have missed a step? I have tried it in the latest version of Burp Suite and in v1.7.36 - both Community and Professional. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shane,

Unfortunately, we do not manage third-party extensions so you will need to raise an issue with the extension developer on GitHub:

If you are using one of the later versions (2020.11 onwards: https://portswigger.net/burp/releases/professional-community-2020-11) of Burp, extensions no longer appear in a tab alongside Raw/Pretty. You should see a 'Select extension' option in the top right of the request/response window that will allow you to select a supported extension based on the contents of the request or response.

You must be an existing, logged-in customer to reply to a thread. Please email us for additional support.
