Support for Chromium on aarch64 Linux

Jim | Last updated: Aug 03, 2021 03:23PM UTC

When you install Burp Suite on Linux running on Arm architecture it installs the x86_64 version of Chromium and the "Open browser" button doesn't work. I'm my case I'm running Kali in a VM on a M1 Macbook. ┌──(parallels㉿kali-linux-2021-1)-[~/.BurpSuite/burpbrowser/88.0.4324.150] └─$ uname -m aarch64 ┌──(parallels㉿kali-linux-2021-1)-[~/.BurpSuite/burpbrowser/88.0.4324.150] └─$ file chrome chrome: ELF 64-bit LSB pie executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 3.2.0, BuildID[sha1]=4e74f4458f780fa67f4ede07ff8f25f07cd3f6d2, not stripped Ideally BurpSuite should download and a version of the browser that works on Arm-based machines. It's a great feature, I hope you can make it work for Arm users. I'd imagine there is a similar issue on Raspberry Pi, but I've not seen any comments to this effect.

Hi Jim, We do have some existing work planned in order to provide support for Burp on Apple M1 chips so I will associate your request with this item of work in our development system. We will update this thread when we have some further news to share about this particular work.
