SQL Injection Database Version : Labs

Hi In SQL Injection Lab to Find the version of Database , ideally one would need to identify number of columns in the table. For this purpose the default DUAL table is used in Oracle. However without using the DUAL Table in 'UNION SELECT NULL command it doesn't work, ie Error Code 500 is returned if DUAL Table is not used. When I visited the previous SQL Lab to find number of columns using 'UNION SELECT NULL command using the DUAL Field here errors the webpage with 500. Is this a bug? Thanks Regards Akshay
