Selecting a smart card crashes Burp

Hi, some of my colleagues and I are experiencing an issue that crashes Burp Suite when selecting a smart card for client authentication with recent versions of Burp on Windows. (Windows 10, Burp Suite Professional v2022.12.7, natively installed in Windows) The steps to reproduce are as follows: Burp -> Settings -> TLS -> Client TLS certificate -> Add -> select "Hardware token or smart card (PKCS#11) -> select "C:\Windows\System32\itp11.dll" -> Next -> enter PIN code -> click "Refresh" and observe that Burp Suite crashes completely On older versions of Burp Suite such as v2020.2.1, the same smart card and library can be used without any issues. Could you drop us an email at support@portswigger.net with some further information?
  • You mention older versions of Burp are fine with your smart card - could you tell me the most recent version of Burp that is working? You can find our downloads here.
  • If you run that version of Burp with Java 17, do you encounter an issue?
  • Could you include your diagnostics information? You can find this by going to "Help > Diagnostics" within Burp.
