Burp Scanner is very slow running why ???

Hi Toby Thanks for your message. It could be any number of things causing Burp Scanner to run slowly. It could be the size of the application, the amount of inputs / insertion points or even the amount of cookies on each individual page. It could also be that you are testing a slow application. You can use the Scanner > Options tab to refine your scanning and ensure you are only scanning aspects of the application that are necessary. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Still too slow, It was even faster than version 1.6.27.. Why ?

Hi Toby Is your comparison based on testing the exact same application? Have you installed any extensions? In addition, since version 1.6.27 we have increased the amount of payloads per insertion point in an effort improve the performance of the Scanner. We have also introduced Burp Collaborator. While these additions shouldn't have caused a noticeable increase in scan speed, Burp is doing more work than in older versions.

We'd be grateful if you could provide more details of this problem, either here or by emailing our support. Do you have any extensions installed? Does this affect every application or only some? Does the problem affect disk-based projects, or temporary projects, or both?

I am having the same issue. Scanning an application with burpsuite_pro_v1.6.32, I have excellent performance. Scanning with anything above this version, my scans grind to a halt. Please provide much more detailed guidance on tuning. Thanks in advance!

Yeah - I can't pin point what changed but the duration for a request is SUPER SLOW after some of the recent updates. I thought this was a web app specific issue but has happened through many tests of varying systems over the last couple months, impacting disk based and temp projects. It can be really tedious to monitor and re-test. Windows 7 64 bit latest version. 1.6 or so like mentioned above did not do this unless theres been a change in how the requests are counted and displayed?

If you have an application that Burp can scan reliably with an older version but not with the current version, then please email support@portswigger.net with more details and we'll investigate and do our best to help. Unfortunately, anecdotal reports that today's Burp scan is running slower than a different scan a while ago aren't enough for us to investigate or help out, sorry.
