Scanner freezes and never end

Hi, I tried using the Scanner with the latest Burp, but the problem that the Scanner freezes and never ends when the server does not return a response seems to recur. BurpSuiteProfessional:v2020.6，v2020.9.2

Can you provide some more detail on your issue, please? Is it occurring for all sites? Do you see any errors in the Event log? Which stage of the scan does the freeze occur? Have you tried looking at the traffic in Flow or Logger++ to identify a pattern in the failing requests?

Thank you for your reply. It does not occur on all sites. Occurs only when you send a specific request and the server does not respond. Nothing is output in the event log. Scanner is stopped in active phase 1. It always happens when no response is returned from the server. I think the scanner should time out even if the server doesn't respond. Why doesn't it time out?

Thanks for that information. If you look at that request in Logger++, does it just hang? Or do you receive a response? The request does usually result in a timeout if the server cannot process it. However, this is influenced by server-side processing too. If you send the failing request to the Repeater, is any response returned? How are you launching the scan? Is it a crawl and audit? Or a single active scan?
