Saving multiple Requests/Responses

Steven | Last updated: Aug 25, 2021 11:06PM UTC

Hello! Is there a way to save multiple Requests/Responses from Proxy HTTP history. The documentation here https://portswigger.net/burp/documentation/desktop/tools/proxy/history says that quote: "Save item(s) - This function lets you specify a file to save the details of selected item(s) in XML format, including full requests and responses, and all relevant metadata such as response length, HTTP status code and MIME type. " However, for me XMLs produced by "Save item(s)" do not include either requests or responses. Many thanks.

Hi Steven, Where are you invoking this from? I have just tested it by selecting multiple items in the Proxy > HTTP History and that does work as expected (if I deselect 'base64-encode requests and responses' then these are just in plain text in the XML file). If you are invoking this from the site map and the request is grey (i.e. does not have a response), it will not work, unfortunately. Can you share a screen recording or steps to replicate, please?

Indeed, the empty result occurred because of no-response items. I checked out another session, and everything works perfect. Thanks for the tip!
