Hi Abhishek Thanks for your message. Have you checked that nothing else is running on port 8080?

Hi Harshal Thanks for your message. You can try using any free ports. E.g. 8081. Do ensure than you change the settings in both your browser and Burp Suite.

Have you tried changing the port PG?

Not able to select "running" option within the proxy listener. After clicking on that checkbox, it is not showing "checked".

Which port are you using? Have you checked that nothing else is running on the same port?

might sound stupid but make sure you don't have another burp window open

SecEng, have you tried running Burp Suite Professional with elevated permissions? Port 443 is a privileged port as it's reserved for the http protocol over TLS/SSL.

it's because your port 8080 is already in use. so first go to your Linux terminal and enter the command netstat -plnt so you can find the 8080 port is in use kill that with process id with command kill (pid whatever shows there) then check again in Burpsuite

may be you are running xampp server and in xampp server you are running any service in 8080 port cross check once

Burp User | Last updated: Sep 24, 2019 02:23PM UTC

I am trying to run listener on 127.0.0.1:443 but Burp is not allowing me to check the box for running the listener. There is no other service running on 443 on my local system.

Do check by typing resmon after clicking windows button and navigate to network in resource monitor, see if any pid is connected to port 8080 Then 8080 is in use ,u need to change port in Burpsuite and browser or kill the task of pid in task manager that matched with pid of port 8080 in resource monitor
