Remember column layout in HTTP history

Martin | Last updated: Mar 07, 2019 01:16AM UTC

Hello, I usually move the "Time" column to the left in the Proxy - HTTP history. But burp doesn't remember this. Neither in the stored project, nor in the project options or in the user options. I have to re-arrange this every time I restart burp. Can you please give me an option to store my preferences in this regard, so that I don't have to re-do this configuration every time I restart burp? Kind regards, Martin Fürholz

I would be happy if you could move the time-column more to the left for the time being (e.g. between "Length" and "MIME type") so that it's always visible. I really need this all the time when I'm working with burp.

I agree, the ability to save your layout would be really helpful. This has been on our development plan for a little while and will be looked at when we next do a UI refactor. We're unlikely to make changes to the column order as we have a large base of users who are accustomed to the current layout.

Any updates on this? "We're unlikely to make changes to the column order as we have a large base of users who are accustomed..." This doesn't really sound like a good reason. If something stinks, and people got used to it after 10 years, you would still try and make it stink less if you can, wouldn't you? MF

Thanks for your message. We do have a feature request in our system we are using to monitor and track interest in this feature. This thread is linked to it, so we will post back here when there are any updates. In the meantime, would using the Logger tab help at all? Although the columns can't be persisted in the Logger tab, the time column is over towards the left if that layout would suit your needs better.
