Recovery of Burp project file

Manish | Last updated: Jul 19, 2018 10:55AM UTC

Hi, I am using Burp on Windows7. I came across an issue where active scan was in progress and the OS went down. I saved the project once when half of the scan was completed. After restart the machine, the Burp is not able to open the project file even with the data which was saved earlier. The burp tried to recover the file and it asked to give a new file name. Even with this option, it generated blank file. How can I recover the file? Does the Burp has functionality of auto save when the scan makes progress?

Can you confirm what version of Burp you were using for the scan? There was major improvements to project recover in 1.7.33. If you were scanning with a version previous to this then unfortunately your data is probably lost. If you were scanning with 1.7.33 or newer then the project recovery feature should generate useful data. If not - would you be willing to share your project file with us?

Sorry, the project file has client data and we can't share :-(.
