reCAPTCHA not appearing when using Burp as a proxy

bblancoftb | Last updated: Aug 14, 2019 06:02PM UTC

When using Burpsuite Pro as a proxy the reCAPTCHA is not appearing on my client's form, and I can't submit requests. I am wondering if there is a Burp setting I need to set, or if there is a security feature in reCAPTCHA that prevents intercepting requests.

We haven't been able to reproduce this issue in our testing. Is the site publicly accessible?

Same here. Here is an example: app.gusto-demo.com Start a spider/scanner and it require to solve a captcha to login. It is not shown while using burp.

Are you expecting the scanner to solve the captcha? Or is the captcha request not showing up in Flow or Logger++?

I'm facing the same problem. I have tried to change the browser. Normally I use Firefox but I have tried 3 ones: Firefox, google chrome, opera and safari. It happens even if I just log the request. the the recapcha don't load at all. It is happen in my virtual machine using Kali. My burp is the professional one. When I have tried to proxy a page in a Windows with Firefox the problem remain. A friend using MacOS tried to proxy and everything went OK. So, I don't have any idea where the problem is.

Hi, I'm trying to perform some tests in a client of mine and I'm facing the same problem: Chromium (90.0.4430.212 - Developer Build), running on Debian kali-rolling (64-bit), using burp pro as proxy but the webpage cannot load recaptcha.. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Hi Daniel, Which version of Burp are you using? If you run the Google reCAPTCHA demo, do you see the same issue? (https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api2/demo) Is the error only occurring in the embedded browser? Do you see any errors in the Developer tools > Console in your browser?
