Not all repeater tabs saved/restored via state file

BurpUser | Last updated: Mar 23, 2015 04:30PM UTC

Hi, Tested on Mac OSX (save) and restore (Win & Mac). When saving the state file and restoring it later one, one Repeater tab (the last one) is missing from the restored state. Not sure whether it's not save in the first place or not restored. Burp 1.6.12 Mac & Win, Java 7 Cheers

Thanks for this report. Unfortunately, we're not able to reproduce this problem. We created several Repeater tabs with different request histories, saved state, restored state, and all of the original tabs were restored. This worked when restoring into the same instance of Burp and into a new clean instance. One possibility is that you enabled the option when saving state to only include in-scope items. Could that explain what you observed? If you still think there is a problem and you can reproduce it reliably, please let us have full repro steps starting from a clean instance of Burp with default settings. Thanks.

Same issue here. Mac OS X 10.10.3 BurpSuite Pro 1.6.22 $ java -version java version "1.8.0_45" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.45-b02, mixed mode) To reproduce: Open BurpSuite & browse to populate any HTTP history. Select an item from history, Cmd-R to send to Repeater. Rename tab to "will-disappear" : DO NOT SEND THE REQUEST FROM REPEATER (this is the key.) Save State, using defaults, making sure Repeater is selected. Close BurpSuite Open BurpSuite Restore State from the file you just saved. Notice the Repeater item is missing. It seems to be that Repeater *does* restore tabs where there's been activity *in Repeater* but does not restore tabs that hadn't yet been used in Repeater.

Yes, Burp only saves actual requested items in the Repeater histories. If a tab has no history of requested items, nothing gets saved, and the empty tab isn't restored.
