Thanks for this report. We believe that this error can be safely ignored unless you are seeing any behavioral effects within Burp itself. If that is the case, please do let us know.

Burp only uses English within its own UI, sorry. In terms of displaying HTTP message content in different charsets should automatically handle this provided responses state the correct charset. You can configure this to override the default behavior at User options / Display / Character sets.

I'm trying to running: java -jar burpsuite_free_v1.7.19.jar But I'm getting the following error and the Burp doesn't open: java.lang.ClassCastException: javax.swing.plaf.ColorUIResource cannot be cast to javax.swing.Painter at javax.swing.plaf.nimbus.NimbusStyle.getBackgroundPainter(NimbusStyle.java:708) at javax.swing.plaf.nimbus.SynthPainterImpl.paintBackground(SynthPainterImpl.java:99) at javax.swing.plaf.nimbus.SynthPainterImpl.paintPanelBackground(SynthPainterImpl.java:957) at javax.swing.plaf.synth.SynthPanelUI.update(SynthPanelUI.java:154) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintComponent(JComponent.java:780) at javax.swing.JComponent.paint(JComponent.java:1056) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintToOffscreen(JComponent.java:5210) at javax.swing.BufferStrategyPaintManager.paint(BufferStrategyPaintManager.java:290) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paint(RepaintManager.java:1272) at javax.swing.JComponent._paintImmediately(JComponent.java:5158) at javax.swing.JComponent.paintImmediately(JComponent.java:4969) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$4.run(RepaintManager.java:831) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$4.run(RepaintManager.java:814) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.ProtectionDomain$JavaSecurityAccessImpl.doIntersectionPrivilege(ProtectionDomain.java:80) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paintDirtyRegions(RepaintManager.java:814) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paintDirtyRegions(RepaintManager.java:789) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.prePaintDirtyRegions(RepaintManager.java:738) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.access$1200(RepaintManager.java:64) at javax.swing.RepaintManager$ProcessingRunnable.run(RepaintManager.java:1732) at java.awt.event.InvocationEvent.dispatch(InvocationEvent.java:311) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEventImpl(EventQueue.java:756) at java.awt.EventQueue.access$500(EventQueue.java:97) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(EventQueue.java:709) at java.awt.EventQueue$3.run(EventQueue.java:703) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.ProtectionDomain$JavaSecurityAccessImpl.doIntersectionPrivilege(ProtectionDomain.java:80) at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(EventQueue.java:726) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(EventDispatchThread.java:201) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(EventDispatchThread.java:116) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(EventDispatchThread.java:105) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:101) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:93) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(EventDispatchThread.java:82)

Hi Pablo, Is this on Linux? Some users have resolved display issues by running Java with one (or both) of these options: -Dsun.java2d.xrender=false -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false It would also be worth upgrading to the latest Burp and Sun Java (not OpenJDK). If you're still having trouble, please let us know the versions of your OS and Java. It may also be that Burp is having some trouble unrelated to display. The exception you've reported does sometimes occur during normal operation. You may want to use --disable-extensions and - -user-defaults to help resolve this. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
