Intruder results: copying a column with Control-Click in Pro version

Nicolas | Last updated: Mar 04, 2015 09:21PM UTC

From the Intruder documentation: "You can reorder the table's contents by clicking on any column header [...] You can copy the contents of a column by Ctrl-clicking the header [Pro version]". Bug #1: A column is reordered everytime its title is clicked, EVEN IF the "Control" key is pressed at the same time. Impact => copying the content of a column will alter its order Bug #2: the content copied with Control-Click is limited to the content shown by the display filter (and that's fine). However, the content is NOT copied in the displayed order. Impact => If sorting depends on the extracted column (best case), then it's possible to Ctrl-Click the title and sort the values outside of Burp. If sorting depends on another column (worst case), exporting the full results table and post-processing it elsewhere is needed. Post-processing is easy on Linux (sort -k ...) but is a PITA when the customer-provided workstation runs only Windows and a JVM.

We've now reproduced and fixed these two issues. The fix will appear in the next minor update to Burp. Thanks again for your feedback - always appreciated.

This issue should have been fixed in today's release, v1.6.12.
