Impossible to use burp.

Burp Team, here is what's going on. I've just downloaded the Burp Suite Professional v1.7.03. When running it, a new window related to the new "project" feature opens. Whatever i select there, a temporary project, create a new project, etc. there is no way to use burp at all. the burp window/icon stays on the taskbar like it is minimized and one cannot "maximize it" it just stays there, sticked no matter what you do. PS: While writing this post, i've figured out how to get the burp window appearing, if you are using windows 7, then you need to click the "Show Desktop" button (the one right to the system clock), that way you can bring it to front. This seems to be clearly an UI related problem. I have never experienced this on previous versions. Regards.

Hi Ricardo Thanks for your message. We've tested this using Windows 7 Ultimate and could not replicate your issue. Are you using the latest version of Oracle Java?

Hi, not sure if it is the last version. It's buldled within the corp desktop image. java version "1.8.0_72" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_72-b15) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.72-b15, mixed mode)

Hi Ricardo We have tested this again with various versions of Java, including the latest version and not been able to reproduce it. You could try upgrading to the latest version and see if that helps.

Try Win key + D to force display of all windows.

Hi Louise Thanks for your message. Which version of Windows are you using?

Hello all, Sorry for the late response. I've ended up reinstalling the corp desktop, due to an hard drive failure. Suddenly, this issue desappeared as well, and now when launching burp, it works as expected, maybe it was a local issue with the corp image. Please close the thread and sorry for the mess.

I have what appears to be the same issue with burpsuite_pro_v1.7.03. My version of java is burpsuite_pro_v1.7.03. This version used to work perfectly well before. We received a MS patch today and I am suspicious that it may be related to the issue I'm seeing. I "Alt+Tab" trough all the running applications but can't "see" the UI. Burp is running in the background in a minimized fashion.

Hi Liam, I'm using Windows 7. BURP is working fine. The issue was that at work I'm using 2 monitors and I must have shut down BURP when it was displayed on the secondary monitor . When I started BURP at home, I only had my laptop (one screen only) and I could not see BURP because I guess it was trying to be displayed on the phantom second monitor. I'm back at work now and can see BURP perfectly well. In case someone else encounters that issue, they may find it useful to know the following commands to bring the UI back to the main monitor in Windows 7: Win+Shift+Left arrow: Move window to the monitor on the left Win+Shift+Right arrow: Move window to the monitor on the right Thanks Louise
