I cannot access any of the labs, I keep getting the "Bad Request" error message

Tried Brup's built in browser, Firefox, resetting the learning path.

Hi At what point are you seeing this error - are you able to get to the page in the Web Academy and it is the actually launching of the lab that is returning this error?

I am also facing the same issue too. Steps to Reproduce : 1) When we click on "Access The Lab" toggle, we are redirected to the launch instance (for e.g. for OS Command Injection lab, we are redirected to this website [https://portswigger.net/academy/labs/launch/2b08de150e353dc1c0057519f466a55a0ca4a7901b2469d56ef7d2a80eddeaa6?referrer=%2fweb-security%2fos-command-injection%2flab-simple]. 2) But here, instead of setting up the lab environment it simply throws an error stating "Bad Request" in the website response without proceeding further and the initial website remains the same as the following link mentioned: https://portswigger.net/academy/labs/launch/2b08de150e353dc1c0057519f466a55a0ca4a7901b2469d56ef7d2a80eddeaa6).

Hi, This is not an issue that we are seeing here (both using connections inside and outside of Portswigger). Are you proxying your traffic through Burp at this point in time or simply using a non-proxied browser? Do you have the ability to use a different network connection? Is so, does this alter the behaviour that you are seeing?

No, I am not using any proxy. I am facing the issue without using any proxy server such as Burp.

Hi, Do you happen to have the uBlock Origin extension installed in your browser (or something similar)?

Bornunique911 | Last updated: Apr 26, 2024 05:35AM UTC

Yes, I have installed uBlock Origin extension. But even if I disabled it, I am facing the same issue of Bad Request.

Update : The issue which I was facing was resolved.

Hi, Out of interest, did your resolution to this issue involve stopping uBlock Origin or was there a separate cause?

It was due to AdGuard AdBlocker extension. I just paused the extension and it worked.

Thank you for that - that is very useful to know.
