HTTP message tooltips unexpectedly bring Burp window to the front

Jon | Last updated: Aug 31, 2021 09:23PM UTC

Platform: Ubuntu 20 (haven't tested other platforms) Version: Pro 2021.8.2 (build 9403) To reproduce: - Open and maximize Burp - Open the text editor, and adjust the window size to only be part of the screen (i.e., not maximized) - With the text editor in the foreground, hover the mouse over Burp such that a tooltip pops up in the HTTP message window Expected: Either nothing happens, or the tooltip pops up behind the text editor; input focus remains on the text editor. Actual: The text editor window gets pushed behind the Burp window, so Burp appears to have input focus. Input focus remains on the text editor, even though it's no longer visible.

Hi Jon, Thanks for reporting this. I am having some issues replicating it, unfortunately. Can you please share the information below with support@portswigger.net? - A screen recording showing the steps to replicate the issue - Diagnostics (Help > Diagnostics) taken after you have replicated the issue - Enable 'Log exceptions to a local directory' under User options > Misc > Performance Feedback. If you then replicate the issue, are any exceptions logged? If so, can you share that file?

I sent a screen recording that demonstrates the issue to the support email address, referencing this thread. After reproducing the issue, I clicked the Diagnostics menu item and it didn't do anything. I had also enabled the logging option, but nothing was logged.
