git clone Windows 10

I have installed git on my machine however when I use the command: git clone <laburl>/.git, I get a error message saying "fatal: repository '<laburl>/.git'" not found. I have logged out and logged back into portswigger academy just to make sure it wasn't a timeout issue but I'm otherwise at a loss as to how to fix it or if theres another program thats more Windows friendly to finish up this lab.

Thanks for your message. Can I just double-check you're working on the 'Information disclosure in version control history' lab, please? If so, if you use something like Cygwin and then use 'wget -r https://your-lab-id.web-security-academy.net/.git', does that help? Or are you at a different stage when you see the error?
