Flow - lost logs

Mark | Last updated: May 12, 2021 03:16PM UTC

Hi I was using the Flow extension yesterday which I just discovered and thought was awesome (should be built in), and I ran a large upload scan with the Upload Scanner extension. This morning all the logs were there but after a couple of filtered searches it's now empty? I restarted Burp and reloaded the Extension but nothing shows up. I then started working on some other stuff and new logs appear in Flow but not the old. Any way of getting those old logs back? What happened?? Now I'm concerned about using this extension.

For any bugs found in extensions, these can be reported to the authors of the extensions, although the logs, in this case, would not be saved when Burp is restarted so depending on your exact scenario this may not be a bug. We have added a native Logger to Burp in recent versions, so you might like to give that a try, you can configure the amount of memory used by the native logger and which details are captured. In the current version, there isn't an option to export the logs just yet and they are not saved with the project file, so they would just be available for the duration of your session and the amount available would depend upon the memory allocated. If you need to export log entries you may also want to take a look at the Logger ++ extension. I hope this helps!
