Hi Aaron Thanks for your message. Have you followed the installation instructions in our Firefox tutorial? - https://support.portswigger.net/customer/en/portal/articles/1783087-installing-burp-s-ca-certificate-in-firefox Can you see the PortSwigger Cert in the 'Authorities' tab?

Burp User | Last updated: Oct 31, 2016 05:42PM UTC

Even I am facing same issue. After I select import and select the cacert.der file, nothing happens. No failure or success prompt. Just nothing happens. I cannot find Portswigger in the Authorities tab too. Dont know what to do from here.

Hi paU1i Have you tried installing the certificate in another browser? Do you encounter the same issue?

Burp User | Last updated: Nov 02, 2016 05:16PM UTC

I just want to chime in and say I am having this same problem. It worked fine before but for some reason it stopped working. Firefox is not saving the portswigger certificate. It works for chrome and IE, but not firefox.

Hi Paul I'm using the latest version of Firefox on OS X. I've been unable to replicate the issue. Which version of Firefox and which operating system are you using?

Burp User | Last updated: Nov 03, 2016 05:59PM UTC

I am on Windows 10 Enterprise and using firefox 49.0.2

Liam, PortSwigger Agent | Last updated: Nov 04, 2016 09:28AM UTC

Hi Paul We've just tested Firefox 49.0.2 on Windows 10 and had no issues installing the PortSwigger certificate. Have you tried using another browser?

Burp User | Last updated: Feb 19, 2017 02:31AM UTC

I have the same issue. I am using OS X and Firefox 52. How did you resolve the issue? I also tried the instructions from youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwWl4d9zH_w but same result. I still get the exception whenever I navigate to a https site. I do not see Portswigger CA in the certificates list in Preferences-> Advanced-> Certificates ->View Certificates.

Hi Rajagopal Thanks for your message. Are you having the same issue using the latest stable version of FireFox? (51.0.1)

Burp User | Last updated: Apr 04, 2017 10:33AM UTC

I faced the same issue, I just updated Firefox and got the latest version like 52.0.2. Now if we download the certificate and import it. Observe that it gets imported successfully.

Hi Jaya Thanks for your message. Just to clarify, you downloaded a new certificate and it imported successfully? Are you able to proxy HTTPS applications?

Burp User | Last updated: Aug 31, 2017 08:11AM UTC

How did you guys resolve this? I have the same problem all of a sudden. Yesterday it still worked, but today the certificate has disappeared from the certificates in firefox. When I import the certificate, it does not show up in the certificates of my firefox (52.0.2 currently). I therefore get the "Your connection is not secure" error on every https site when the burp proxy is enabled.

We've just tested the latest version of Firefox and been unable to reproduce your issue. Have you tried updating to 55.0.3? Additionally, which OS are you using?

Burp User | Last updated: Feb 23, 2018 09:10AM UTC

i had the same issue but i have finally solved it by refreshing firefox then re importing the certificate. it finally appeared under firefox certs.

Liam, PortSwigger Agent | Last updated: Feb 23, 2018 10:56AM UTC

Have you tried removing and reinstalling the Burp Cert? And refreshing Firefox? Can you see the certificate in the Firefox cert store?

Burp User | Last updated: May 03, 2018 05:47PM UTC

Same problem 5/3/2018 with Firefox 59, Windows 10.
