failed to connect to the configured collaborator server

My Burp collaborator could not use now. When I view the Dashboard, it reveals that "failed to connect to the configured collaborator server" And as I use Burp Collaborator Client, It reveals that In Dashboard Type Source Message Error Suite failed to connect to the configured collaborator server Error Suite [3] The Burp Collaborator server used by the Burp Collaborator And when I check the Burp Collaborator Health Check It reveals following Initiating health check server address resolution success Server HTTP connection Error server HTTPS connection (trust enforced) Warning Server HTTPS connection (trust not enforced) Error Server SMTP connection on port 25 Warning server SMTP connection on port 587 Warning Server SMTPS connection (trust enforced) Warning server SMTPS connection (trust not enforced) Warning Polling server address resolution Success Polling server connection Error An HTTPS connection to the capture server at timm5py9imteb0df8hfcu8lyc4pi82q6tv.burpcollaborator.net could not be opened. Communication using other protocols did work; possibly a firewall is preventing this connection. The HTTP response of the capture server was not as expected, perhaps this is not a collaborator server. The HTTPS response of the capture server was not as expected, perhaps this is not a collaborator server. No connections to the poling server at poling.burpcollaborator.net could be opened. The collaborator will not work in this configuration.

Thanks for your message. Which version of Burp are you using? From your machine are you able to browse to http://burpcollaborator.net when using a browser that is not proxied via Burp? If you can reach the site, can you check if your browser is using an upstream proxy server? Is there a firewall that could be preventing the connection?

My Burp version is 2020.9.2 When I browse to http://burpcollaborator.net,I can not browse it and it reveals "The website cannot be accessed temporarily because it is not filed or access illegal content. Please contact the access provider." But actually I can successfully ping it. You said that let me check if my browser is using an upstream proxy server. You mean using it in Burp or ? I am not sure if there is a firewall, but I have proxy to view extranet.

The Collaborator server is currently accessible if I browse to http://burpcollaborator.net, so this may be something specific to your setup. If you use Firefox or Chrome to browse to http://burpcollaborator.net or any other website when you are not trying to intercept traffic in Burp, do you need to use a proxy server to access sites? Are you able to browse to http://burpcollaborator.net from another machine?

When I browse to http://burpcollaborator.net, if I use a proxy, it failed and reveals ""The website cannot be accessed temporarily because it is not filed or access illegal content. Please contact the access provider." And if I do not use a proxy, then it comes to a new page which is very strange. So strange. I am able to browse to http://burpcollaborator.net from another machine, which is different from the page I had browsed before.

On the machine where Burp is installed, do you normally need to use a proxy when browsing sites? The policy on your proxy may be blocking access to the collaborator server so you may need to speak to the team that looks after the proxy server to find out if access can be allowed on http and https.

OH sorry there is something makes busy these days. My Burp in installed in Desk C, and I normally need to use a proxy when browsing sites. And after trying your advice which close my proxy. It seems accessible, and excuse me please, I have something to do these days, so if I can not access to Burp server, it will takes your some time. Sincerely thanks!!!

I can access to http://burpcollaborator.net sometimes. But as long as I use burp to block the website, the error message still goes like "failed to connect to the configured collaborator server"
