failed to connect on one site but not others

I'm having an issue where I connect to a client's site that has a redirect to an authentication site. Once logged in, it send you back to the original site. When I try to access it through the proxy, burp gives me an error "Failed to connect to clientsite.net:443. If I go to the authentication site, or any of their other sites or any site, like https://www.google.com, it works perfectly fine. It seems to be just this one site. Any idea how I can diagnose this problem?

I've tried it with ie, firefox, chrome, the built in browser in burp. Same issue. If I got don't use the proxy on the other browsers (not the built in), it works, going through any browser using the proxy and it gives the error.
