Export/import Resource Pool configuration in project options JSON

Jon | Last updated: Aug 31, 2021 08:45PM UTC

We want to set up a few default Resource Pools so we don't have to recreate them every time a new disk project gets set up. Our process when starting a new project is to import a standard default project options JSON so everything is consistent, but I found that the Resource Pool configuration does not get exported in either the "Save project options" or "Save user options" menu items, and so presumably there's also no ability to import those settings. This could be worked around by creating a default disk project file, but that doesn't seem like the right way this should work.

Hi Jon, Thanks for this request. You are correct in that the resource pool configuration is not currently saved to the Project or User options. We have registered your interest in a feature request to address this and will update this thread if/when it is implemented.

Hi PortSwigger, Can you please advise if there's a genuine intention to introduce this feature and if so, is there an approximate timeframe when that can occur? Sincerely, 'Will we ever see Export/import Resource Pool configuration feature?' community

Hi, We still cannot provide an ETA, unfortunately. We'll keep this thread updated if anything changes!

Hi, Is there a command line parameter that could be used to set/configure default resource pool? Could the extension API be used to implement such functionality? What would be the recommended way to create a new project/scan with a custom resource pool on startup, or programatically? Thanks

Hi, This won't be possible until we've added functionality to save the resource pool settings in the config files. We'll let you know if/when that is implemented - thank you in advance for your patience!
