Error Message: 'Configuration JSON Found' in Burp Suite Extension Loading

Binod | Last updated: Oct 21, 2023 02:27PM UTC

I'm using burpsuite pro v2023.10.3.1 and I'm currently facing an issue while loading extension on java and python enviroment. I can install java 18 in windows11 and i have loaded jython-standalone. When I attempt to load an extension, I encounter an error message that mentions 'cofiguration files error' Invalid json configuration found at: P >>> K <<< /U - Unexpected "PK[0x03]" from [line 1, column 1] to [line 1, column 3]. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to go about resolving this problem. It's been affecting my work, and I could really use some guidance on how to fix it. If you could assist me in understanding the cause of this error and finding a solution, I would greatly appreciate it. Your insights and assistance in addressing this issue would be invaluable.

Hi Could you tell me the extension that you are having this issue with? Is this an extension that you have previously loaded and configured before?

When I attempt to load GitHub-based extensions such as BurpCustomizer, BurpGPT, and SSRF-King into both the Java and Python environments, I encounter a configuration file error. The error message reads as follows: "Invalid JSON configuration found at: P >>> K <<< /U - Unexpected "PK[0x03]" from [line 1, column 1] to [line 1, column 3]". As a result, I am unable to load any extensions as I did previously. However, it's worth noting that the BAppS extension works perfectly without any errors.
