Decoder-Copy/Paste not optional

Alex | Last updated: Sep 18, 2022 11:43PM UTC

Good day; I'm running Parrot OS 5.1 (Electro Ara) as guest via KVM Virt Manager. On top of Garuda Linux 5.19.9-zen1-1-zen KDE Plasma 5.25.5. With Burpsuite v2022.8.4 that came with the Parrot update. When firing up Burp I get a notification that my JRE appears to be v 17.0.4 from Debian and has not been fully tested on this platform. Which is understandable of course. Now the issue I am having is that within Burp, under the Decoder tab I have no option to copy/paste and so forth. This seems to be the only tab with this particular issue. Rather via mouse pad or wireless mouse there is nothing. As if the action is not recognized. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. 《~`~》

Hi Alex, The Decoder tab relies on the use of keyboard shortcuts for copy/paste functionality (there are no context menu options to copy and paste within this particular tab). Just to clarify the situation, are your keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste not working within the Decoder tool or is it the case that you were expecting context menu copy and paste functionality?

Thank you much for the speedy reply. I figured it out earlier this morning. I was able to copy and paste from everywhere I wanted other than the location I was attempting yesterday with out any issues. Attempting to copy from HackTricks via right click copy or control c were ineffective. However using the copy icon HackTricks provides worked delightfully well with the shortcuts in Burp. To answer your question, yes, at first I was anticipating that there would have been context menu functionality. Yet, I did try the shortcuts as well as some poking around. Thank y'all much, so looking forward to elevating from n00b status and working with this rather nifty offering of yours.
