Could not start Burp: java.lang.NullPointerException

Your JRE appears to be version 11.0.14 from Debian Burp has not been fully tested on this platform and you may experience problems. Could not start Burp: java.lang.NullPointerException I have update my Burp recently ...after that i could able to start burp it is showing NullPointerException...Can any help me to resolve this issue and i am using Burp in kali linux in virtual box

Hi Could you tell me some more information? - The version of Burp you are trying to launch? - Are you using Pro or Community? - Are you launching the standalone JAR version of Burp, or the Linux installer version?

HI, I am having exactly the same problem with as far as I can tell the same set-up, personally I am trying to run the .jar community edition as the linux installer shell script is not working on my set up either. Hope this helped and can be gotten to the bottom of

Could you try starting Burp with the "--diagnostics" argument, and send us any output? You can drop us an email at support@portswigger.net.

Hi Jo, Can we clarify the following: - Are you running Kali Linux (as was the case with the original author of this forum post)? If so, what version are you running? - If you enter the command 'uname -a' into a terminal (without the single quotes) are you able to share the output with us? - Are you running Linux on a physical or virtual machine? - Are you accessing the Linux machine directly or are you using some kind of remote desktop software?
