Configuration: How to intercept mobile device traffic with burpsuite pro

Telenor | Last updated: May 08, 2024 02:20PM UTC

Hi community , I am trying to intercept the traffic of my mobile device with Burpsuite Pro. This was integrated and working fine, but due to some reason it's not working now.  The case is that I configured the device and burpsuite (application) as recommended by the portswigger. The traffic isn't pushing towards the application.  Nor the logs maintained in the application that the connection was reset or established.  Through my device, when I try to browse the mentioned address:port, there is no response that I am getting.  Also, I tried to manually add the application certificate to the device and installed it, but there was no interception or traffic route to the application. Can you help me with your knowledge to resolve the issue?

Hi, To clarify, are you having issues both with proxying traffic from the browser on the mobile and proxying traffic from mobile applications? In the first instance, are you able to send us an email at support@portswigger.net and include some screenshots of what you have configured in the proxy settings of the mobile device and the settings that you have configured within your proxy listener in Burp? In addition to the above, if you browse to a simple HTTP site (http://example.com is a good site to use for this) in a browser on the device does the page load and do you see this traffic in Burp? We look forward to receiving your email with the details above.

1. are you having issues both with proxying traffic from the browser on the mobile and proxying traffic from mobile applications? Response: facing issue on both 2. browse to a simple HTTP site (http://example.com is a good site to use for this) in a browser on the device does the page load and do you see this traffic in Burp? Response: Yes, the page loads and display content by using http & https protocol. but the traffic isn’t route to toward the burpsuite.
