Calculate and Add a custom header (Signature) with each outgoing scanner and Repeater request

Hello, Is it possible to add a calculated string based on parameters (like Signature) as header with every scan request sent out by Burp Scanner and also automatically update the same header with every request sent out by Burp Repeater ? Please let me know of any API which can help develop a Burp extension with above condition.
