Burp Suite UI Crash?

noobSecurity | Last updated: Aug 15, 2022 09:00AM UTC

Hi, Sometimes I found that the Burp UI crashes like this: https://postimg.cc/bZ5nHNWV https://postimg.cc/47SjXcSb My PC uses Windows 11, CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, 64GB RAM, RTX 3090 Graphic Card with 4k resolution monitor. I'm not sure what's the issue, I try to use windows and java versions but still the same. Any advice to fix this issue? It's really annoying, I must restart the burp to get it back to normal, but then it will happen again the next time. Thank You

Hi Are you using the installer version of Burp or the standalone JAR file? Could you try launching Burp with each of these arguments in turn and let us know if there is an improvement, please? 1: -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true 2: -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false 3: -Dswing.useflipBufferStrategy=True 4: -Dsun.java2d.ddforcevram=true 5: -Dsun.java2d.ddblit=false If you are using the installer version of Burp, you will need to add these arguments to the vmoptions file contained in your installation directory. For instructions on launching Burp using the command line, please check out our documentation here: https://portswigger.net/burp/documentation/desktop/getting-started/launch-from-command-line

Hi, I try all of those arguments but still face the issues. It's only happened in JAR and Windows Installer version, in macOS it's run smoothly.

Could you drop us an email at support@portswigger.net with your diagnostics information attached? You can find this by going to "Help > Diagnostics" within Burp.

Hello, I also had this problem. I disabled my graphic card from device manager and my problem was solved
