Burp suite not working

Hi, I'm using parrot OS on my laptop. I tried once to work with burp and got failed.When I opened the app, Java run time error popped up. couldn't remember exactly."This version is not tested for java 11.0.20" something like that.I ignored it and set up proxy in Firefox, installed certificate then try to see how traffic goes through the proxy but it failed. I tried google.com.. I set up according to one of book's instructions. This is the first time this happened. Second, I registered with portswigger academy to receive a proper training. To complete my 1st lap which us sql injection, having set up virtual box with Kali linux 2021.2, I tried to see if it would works. Same there as well. In both methods, I tried with embedded browser. its failed me as well. What should I do? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
