Burp Suite Filter Dialog Causes Main Window to Disappear When Maximized

Derek | Last updated: Nov 19, 2020 11:00AM UTC

I hope this is the right category (it might not be a bug). I'm having a problem when using a maximized Burp Suite Professional window on MacOS. After clicking filter, it switches to entirely new screen just to show the filter dialog. It's as if, I used the three finger swipe right gesture on the touchpad. This only happens when the main window is maximized. I can workaround it by not keeping the window maximized, but I prefer to work like that. I also had a friend that said they were experiencing a similar problem on Linux. Please advise, Derek

Hi Derek, We have been able to replicate this behavior on Mac and have raised a bug with our development team. We cannot provide an ETA of when this will be fixed but we will update this thread when we have some further news. Regarding your friend who is having the same issue in Linux - do you know which version of Linux they are using when they also see this behavior?

Ben, Thanks for looking into this! Regarding Linux, I'm quoting my friend: "i was using this: Linux tester 5.8.0-kali2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.8.10-1kali1 (2020-09-22) x86_64 GNU/Linux burp verison right before version 2020.11.1 ( i forget which, but i recently upgraded)" Regards, Derek

Thanks Derek. I will take a look at this to see if we can replicate this here as we were not aware that this is also an issue on Linux.
