Hi The automated scan uses a headless Chromium browser to crawl and audit your site. Is this what you are referring to?

When you run a scan, it will use a headless Chromium browser to perform the scan. This won't show up visually (as it's being run headlessly) but will appear in your task manager and use resources. You can limit the amount of memory that Burp launches with if needed. You can find some instructions on how to do this using command-line arguments here: https://portswigger.net/burp/documentation/desktop/getting-started/launch-from-command-line Burp's embedded browser (Proxy > Intercept > Open browser) is also using Chromium. There are also other components in Burp that use Chromium as well.
