Burp Professional - Unable to handle noscript response

NAVEEN | Last updated: May 27, 2020 08:26AM UTC

Hello Support Team, We are trying to do active/passive scans using Burp Professional v2020.4 on our applications. Appears that almost all scanner requests are getting redirected to common page(s) with below noscript response types. Any way to work around this problem? Is the Burp User agent not javascript enabled? <noscript><p>JavaScript is required. Please enable JavaScript.</p></noscript> <noscript>This page uses JavaScript and requires a JavaScript enabled browser. Your browser is not JavaScript enabled.</noscript> Thanks, Naveen

Would it be possible to provide a screenshot of the error message? Traditionally, Burp does not handle JavaScript-heavy pages very well so this could be the cause of the issue that you are seeing. With the release of version 2.1.05, we included an experimental embedded browser aimed at providing better coverage for more modern web technologies. In order to do this you need to initiate a New scan from the Dashboard and then navigate to the Scan configuration page. From here select New -> Crawling and then expand the Miscellaneous section in the resulting New scanning configuration dialog. At the bottom of the page there is a "Use embedded browser for navigation (EXPERIMENTAL) checkbox". If you enable this and then run the scan as you normally would. Let us know if this helps.
