Burp Professional : Could not connect to seed URL

Hi All, I am trying to run Burp Scan . Right click on target >> Scan >>Crawl and audit >> Run (The usual process) But i Am getting error "Could not connect to seed URL" Please explain in laymen terms , i am new to this can anyone please help .

Hi Aditya, The 'Could not connect to any seed URLs' error message means that Burp Scanner was unable to send requests to any of the specified URLs to scan. This error can be caused by anything that prevents Burp Scanner from connecting to the URL. This can include timeouts, connection failed errors, and problems resolving hostnames. To rule out anything simple, are you still able to access the target site on the machine that Burp is installed? What happens if you right-click on one of the captured requests to the target site within Burp and instead of going through the process to initiate a scan, you instead send the request to Repeater and then issue it from there? Is the request successfully issued and do you receive a response?

yes i am able to access site on target machine i can intercept request , send them to repeater work on it and get appropriate response . It just the case when i run crawl and audit scans
