Hi Akki, Thanks for reporting this. What errors are you seeing in the Event log? Have you tried disabling TLSv1.3 on your Proxy listener? You can do this by selecting a listener > Edit > TLS Protocols > Use custom protocols.

tried with disabling TLS 1.3 still the same.

Hi, Are you able to send an email to support@portswigger.net with screenshots of your setup (proxy details in your iPad and Burp settings) so that we can investigate this further for you?

Hi, I'm having the same issue here. I already configure the proxy and already follow the steps from https://portswigger.net/support/installing-burp-suites-ca-certificate-in-an-ios-device and https://portswigger.net/support/configuring-an-ios-device-to-work-with-burp. Laptop and iphone is connected to same wifi. Whenever I try to surf http://burp , the browser keep loading and end. I unable to download the Burp Cert. Phone model = iphone 7+ Software version = ios 14.5.1

Hi, Can you clarify what happens when you try to browse to the site http://example.com in the browser of your mobile device? I just want to confirm the integrity of the initial connection that you have setup. If you want to send us an email at support@portswigger.net and include some screenshots of what you are seeing so that we can see exactly what is happening then please feel free.

Hi Mohammed, We received the email that you sent into us with this issue and have just replied - it might be easier (in terms of sharing information/screenshots) to continue troubleshooting via email so we will await your response there.

Hi, Are you able to clarify what issues you are facing installing the Burp CA Certificate on your device?

Mehdi | Last updated: Feb 24, 2022 12:11PM UTC

Hello, Any updates on this ? I am facing exactly the same issue. Proxy is configured as per the instructions you posted but can’t see any traffic on my burp and can’t even download the Certificate. Safari and Chrome timeout. iPhone XR iOS 14.7.1 Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mehdi, If you cannot see any traffic from the browser on your device in Burp then that would suggest there is something wrong with the connectivity between the device and the machine that Burp is running on. If you open a browser on the mobile device and try and browse to the IP of the machine that Burp is running on and the port that Burp's proxy listener is listening on, what happens (i.e. something like http://192.168.0.2:8080)?

Mehdi | Last updated: Feb 24, 2022 12:52PM UTC

Hi, I did in fact try to do that. But I get the same result. It times out.

Mehdi | Last updated: Feb 24, 2022 01:30PM UTC

Figured it out. I configured my phone to connect to a hotspot on my Linux host but the proxy configured on the iPhone was the IP address of my linux on the hotspot vlan when it should’ve been the IP on the interface that actually has access to the internet outside of the hotspot. Typically eth0… Anyway should’ve been more thorough in my debugging. Thanks for your help.
