Burp not responding

Jason | Last updated: Dec 16, 2021 08:58AM UTC

When I set my Firefox's proxy to work with burp, burp does not intercept any request, also none of the pages load on Firefox, which is quite obvious if intercept is on. Also note that I have tried to open burp with and without root. My os is a Kali VM.

Hi Jason, Are you able to send us an email at support@portswigger.net and include some screenshots of what you have configured for your proxy in Firefox and also what you have configured for your Burp Proxy Listener? Out of interest, if you use Burp's embedded browser (available from Proxy -> Intercept -> Open Browser) do you see the same behaviour?

Hey, thanks for your quick response, I will try out your email option. But as for the embedded browser, when I click on the open button at first it does not respond, and then after a few minutes it gives me this error - net. portswigger.devtools. client. am: Unable to start browser: ... and a lot of binary stuff - https://www.upload.ee/image/13720269/Screenshot_2021-12-16_at_4.37.09_PM.png .

Hi Jason, Emailing would be useful - or if you have the ability to upload the screenshots elsewhere then that would be another option. I just want to check exactly what you have setup, in the first instance. With regards to the error that you are seeing - are you running Kali on ARM64 hardware? We do not currently ship Linux ARM64 compatible binary files (this impacts the embedded JRE in the installable version of Burp and also the embedded browser in both the installable version and the standalone Jar file version) so Burp will throw out an error when you try and launch the embedded browser because it cannot find a compatible binary file to run.

Ah yes, the architecture is arm64. Which all screenshots would you want?
