Burp memory usage in intruder

Iordache | Last updated: Sep 04, 2021 08:03PM UTC

Is there any way to improve the memory usage in burp intruder at more than 10M requests? Or force the results to be saved on HDD instead of ram while intrudet is running. After doing about 10M requests in intruder aprox 18-20GB ram is used. Aprox 5-6GB disk space is used. Note that I do NOT store the requests and responses, I have a few grep extract rules that grab the contents of the page I am interested in. Also, there is a small number of hits (<0.01%) so there is very little content saved in the burp intruder window with results.

Hi Iordache, Thanks for reporting this. Can you please share the information below with support@portswigger.net? - Steps to replicate the behavior - screenshots and/or a screen recording will be helpful - Diagnostics (Help > Diagnostics) taken after you have replicated it - Are you using a temporary project file? Or a disk-based one? - Do you have any extensions enabled when you are running the Intruder attacks? - Can you replicate this in a new disk-based project file with extensions disabled?
