Burp is still sending one Google Request through the proxy to the logs

TrustedComputer | Last updated: Mar 03, 2021 06:57PM UTC

2021.2 Release Notes for Professional/Community: HTTP requests initiated by the embedded Chromium browser itself, rather than the user, are no longer sent. Also, Burp's embedded browser has been upgraded to Chromium 88.0.4324.150. Thank you so much! It's 99% better now. But there's still one request going through and polluting the otherwise pristine logs: GET /v1/pages/ChRDaHJvbWUvODguMC40MzI0LjE1MBI7CdQfSmT-aB9SEhUN541ADhIIdXNlcm5hbWUaBHRleHQSGQ3OQUx6EghwYXNzd29yZBoIcGFzc3dvcmQ=?alt=proto HTTP/1.1 Host: content-autofill.googleapis.com Connection: close X-Goog-Encode-Response-If-Executable: base64 X-Goog-Api-Key: dummytoken X-Client-Data: CInbygE= Sec-Fetch-Site: none Sec-Fetch-Mode: no-cors Sec-Fetch-Dest: empty User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/88.0.4324.150 Safari/537.36 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.9

Thanks for reporting this. I am having some issues replicating it. Does this occur with the embedded browser? Can you share the steps to replicate?

Hey there. I'm getting this as well - that's how I've ended up here (Google sent me!) v2020.9.2 with embedded browser (85.0.4183.121) Not sure what the trigger is. Seems to happen on every browser interaction click/post. Confirmed as not happening with Firefox->Burp

Barry, does it occur in the latest stable release? (2021.2.1)

We have removed the requests to content-autofill.googleapis.com made by the embedded browser in the latest release of Burp (2021.4). Can you please download the latest version and let us know if your issue persists?

Hey there. Now on v2021.3.3 (downloaded fresh today, checked for updates: none. Not sure why I'm not getting v2021.4), using built-in browser. Can confirm those requests are gone. Many thanks to all.

edit: no v2021.4 because I'm on 'stable'. I'm ok with this.
