Hi, I am currently experiencing some trouble with burp - out of nowhere. in the middle of my work, burp can no longer display anything. all i see is the process Icon (just like you minimize burp) , but i can't see the actual UI even when im pressing the icon / Alt+tab to the process.. etc i also tried to run it via the command line, but same result. is this issue is known to you ? thanks

Hi Thanks for your message. What is the command you are using to launch Burp via the command line?

Firstly, make sure you are using the actual path to the Burp JAR file, not literally /path/to/burp.jar Issues like this are sometimes due to extreme low memory conditions, if Burp has suddenly out of nowhere started running with a black screen. You could try closing any other unneeded programs, or restarting your system, to see if that helps.

Same as mentioned here: "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -jar "path\to\burp.jar"

Hi Louise Thanks for your message. Which version of Windows are you using?

I have the same issue. Burp always ran very nicely just by double clicking on the file. Today for the first time (suspiciously right after MS patch updates) when I try to start burp, I can see that it starts, I see the icon in the bar at the bottom of my screen and burp is working because I can use the browser through burp's proxy. However I cannot maximize the window. It's as if Burp is running minimized and there is no way for me to view the application. I've tried starting Burp from the command prompt using the command: "java -jar -Xmx1024m D:/burpsuite_pro_v1.7.03.jar" with the exact same results. Thank you for any information you can provide. Louise

Hi Liam, I'm using Windows 7. BURP is working fine. The issue was that at work I'm using 2 monitors and I must have shut down BURP when it was displayed on the secondary monitor . When I started BURP at home, I only had my laptop (one screen only) and I could not see BURP because I guess it was trying to be displayed on the phantom second monitor. I'm back at work now and can see BURP perfectly well. In case someone else encounters that issue, they may find it useful to know the following commands to bring the UI back to the main monitor in Windows 7: Win+Shift+Left arrow: Move window to the monitor on the left Win+Shift+Right arrow: Move window to the monitor on the right Thanks Louise

How did your team come up with the idea for your icon? Is it a person with their mouth open and burping?
