Burp Extender support in Free Edition

Daniel | Last updated: Aug 22, 2016 06:26PM UTC

We currently pay for the Pro Edition however numerous cases have arisen to develop tools for continued use by other individuals who currently do not pay for the Professional Edition. Is there any support for Extensions in the Free Edition version of Burp Suite? Please point me to any documentation I may have missed that explicitly addresses this use case. Thanks, Daniel

Yes, extensions are supported in the free edition of Burp. APIs relating to Pro edition features (such as to perform a scan) perform no operation. You can try out the free edition and look at the available extensions in the BApp Store to get a feel for what is possible.

Diego, do you see any messages in the Extender > Extension > Errors tab?

The free edition doesn't allow 'scanning" or penetration tests. Its use is limited. If anyone has extensions that can be used to upgrade it please link in the comments. If you have a youtube channel that goes over the best way to maximize the community edition Burp Suite please list.

Hello! I'm trying to install this extension to Burp Suite Community Edition: https://github.com/summitt/Burp-Non-HTTP-Extension/releases/tag/v1.5 I've followed the procedure to add it by Externder guide > Extension > Add button, Java extension option and it said that was loaded successfully. However, the Nope HTTP Tab wasn't installed on Burp Suite. What am I doing wrong? I've upgraded Burp Suite to v.2.1.04 and have repeated the process but it didn't works. Could you help me, please?
