Burp Enterprise - LoadBalancer DNS not resolving?

Abbas | Last updated: Feb 01, 2021 01:48PM UTC

I've used the cloud formation templates to setup enterprise on AWS. The load balancer has been created, and DNS name attached, however when navigating to the DNS name - nothing loads. What routing needs to take place to ensure the DNS resolves successfully and the login page is displayed? The load balancer has one VPC attached, and two availability zones. I've ensured that the security groups allow my IP access to port 80 & 443.

Just saw that once it's been deployed, it isn't publicly accessible. So how do I access this environment from my local machine? The guide doesn't mention how to connect once its deployed. Do i need to connect via VPN? Or assign it an elastic IP address?

Thanks for your patience, Abbas. It’s difficult to advise without more information about your network topology. What you need to do is add a NAT Gateway in a public subnet within the VPC as described here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpc/latest/userguide/vpc-nat-gateway.html https://docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/latest/aws-vpc-connectivity-options/introduction.html This will allow you to use the CFT without any modification and the resources will deploy successfully. If you’re connecting VPCs via VPC peering this article might help: https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/elb-access-load-balancer-vpc-peering/ We’ve left it open for you to decide how to access the application. The load balancer (ALB) DNS entry should be available within the VPC created by the CFT. Similarly, if you connect to another VPC you should be able to access the ALB. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
