Burp Enterprise gonna replace Burp Pro?

chandraveer | Last updated: Nov 27, 2018 08:01AM UTC

Hi, According to the features and pricing of Burp Enterprise; can we deduce that Burp pro will no longer be required if we install Burp Enterprise. If so, how can we keep track of scan items, vulnerabilities, advanced, and essential manual tools?

Hi Chandraveer, Thanks for your message. Burp Enterprise is not intended to replace Burp Pro; they are two separate product lines and both will be actively developed for the foreseeable future. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Can I utilise my existing Burp Pro as an agent to Enterprise server? If yes, how? Since the agent is an embedded burp scanner that an Enterprise Burp uses.

Hi Chandraveer, You're can't use a Burp Pro license as an Enterprise Agent (nor can you do this the other way round). While they're based on the same core, they are licensed as separate products. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hey Paul, Thanks for reverting back quickly. Isn't this unfair that one cannot use his existing Burp Pro as an additional agent? ( In essence, Burp Pro is an agent here). Why to pay twice for purchasing one thing?

Hi, They're licensed somewhat differently. Primarily that a Burp Pro license is for one user, but one Enterprise Agent can be used (though the Enterprise Server) by as many users as you like. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
