Burp Collaborator could not be resolved to an IP address.

Laurens | Last updated: Dec 22, 2021 09:07AM UTC

The 'Burp Collaborator Health Check' is failing. The error message is as follows: "The capture server hostname <SUBDOMAIN>.burpcollaborator.net could not be resolved to an IP address. Ensure that an appropriate DNS entry exists for the server. The polling server hostname polling.burpcollaborator.net could not be resolved to an IP address. Ensure that an appropriate DNS entry exists for the server." I'm using Burp Pro with the default Collaborator client in a new Temporary project. Generated Burp Collaborator clients are also not available from other IP addresses and other computers. I've updated and rebooted my system, but to no avail. Do you have any idea how to solve this?

Hi Laurens, If you are referring to the public Collaborator server then that appears to be down. Our development team is aware of this so we will provide an update in this thread when the issue has been fixed.

Hi Can you tell us more about your setup, please? - Do you use an upstream proxy or are you connected to a VPN? - Can you access https://oastify.com via a browser that is not proxied via Burp? - If you copy a collaborator payload and browse to it using a browser that is not proxied via Burp, can you connect?

Hi, Just to clarify, you are using both an upstream proxy and are connected to a VPN?
