Burp Chromium Browser Stops Working

Rebecca | Last updated: Apr 15, 2023 01:06PM UTC

After 15 minutes of using Burp's Chromium browser, including on sites where the pages have almost no content, no javascript and no css, when I alt-tab away from Chromium to Burp, I am unable to get back to Chromium. I have to force quit the browser and restart it. Set up: Burp Pro Version 2023.3.3 (2023.3.3) MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 16 GB DDR4 Memory MacOS Ventura 13.2.1

i am experiencing the same, regarding the OS (I used both, mac OS ventura and Windows 11) and both version of burp: Pro and Community Edition. Sometimes just google stuck loading simple results and sometimes just stopped resolving DNS

Hi both Thanks for getting in touch. We're trying to replicate this issue here, but so far we're not seeing the same issue. Can you both please email the output from Help > Diagnostics and any steps that might help us try to recreate the problem to support@portswigger.net, please? Are there any messages in the Event log on Burp's Dashboard when this happens?

There are no messages in the Event log. I'll send you screenshots of the event log along with output from Help > Diagnostics. Also, 15 minutes was a guess, but based on Event log it was just over 8 minutes this morning before Chromium stopped responding. I forgot to put the version of Chromium, although it is the default browswer that ships with Pro, so you probably already know: Chromium: Version 112.0.5615.49 (Official Build) (x86_64)
