Burp Browser Doesn't Work After Update

I have updated to the latest stable version v2023.5.2, and the burp browser was uninstalled from the burpbrowser directory. When trying to use the browser, the following error message pops: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "C:\Users\********\AppData\Local\BurpSuitePro\burpbrowser\114.0.5735.91\chrome.exe": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified I have tried reinstalling the older version v2023.4.5, but Chrome is not returning. Also, reinstalling version v2023.5.2 is not helping. It has happened before after updating the burp version, but usually, reinstalling does the trick.

Hi Do you have any firewalls or antivirus that might be blocking it? Have you tried completely uninstalling, then reinstalling Burp again?

Hi again Dominyque, Sorry if I reply with the same question regarding the same issue, but I think it's better instead of openning a new Post. But the issue is the same as stated Ionatan, when I installed Burp Pro I had the same Antivirus that I already have in use, but when Burp updates chrome.exe file is erased from the instalation path. "C:\Users\********\AppData\Local\BurpSuitePro\burpbrowser\114.0.6045.159\chrome.exe": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified I went to the path described in the error message and effectively, chrome.exe is not there, then a FW or AV aren't blocking it, it is erased when updating Burp pro. Note that it only happens when Burp gets updated. Any suggestion how to fix this if it happens in further situations? It's not an efficient way uninstalling completely and reinstalling if update Burp should happen as smooth as possible and all should work as supposed. Thank you in advance.

Currently I'm installing Burp Pro 2023.11.1.1 hope everthing go well. The issue I described before (Nov 23, 2023 05:09PM UTC) was while updating from 2023.10.3.4 to 2023.10.3.6 The suggestions about how to recover or get working burpbrowser is always really appreciated. Best,

Hi Edwin The Chrome version will update with the release, so based on the version you were using before (v2023.10.3.6), the chrome.exe file would not be in the folder: 114.0.6045.159 as that is an older version. Can you please navigate to your diagnostics (by going through Help> Diagnostics) and please let us know what is written for the Burp Browser? If you prefer, you can send us your entire diagnostics at support@portswigger.net.

Hello, I've Burp Suite Community Edition v2024.5.3 but doesn't open the burp browser because is diplay my an error like : java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "C:\Users\Utente\AppData\Local\Programs\BurpSuiteCommunity\burpbrowser\126.0.6478.57\chrome.exe" CreateProcess error = 2, no such a file or directory. How can i fix this? Thank you
