Broken keyboard accessibility

Jon | Last updated: Aug 15, 2016 09:03PM UTC

One of the constant frustrations when using Burp is the near total lack of keyboard accessibility when it comes to interacting with dialog controls; modal dialogs in particular. Forcing the use of the mouse greatly impedes efficient use of the application, and users with disabilities who rely on standard accessibility features would almost certainly abandon using Burp on the grounds that it was unusable. For example, - Controls such as check boxes, radio buttons, most regular buttons, and dropdown lists can't be interacted with using the keyboard at all. - Many controls are not members of a tab order. - Modal dialog boxes are neither canceled using the escape key, nor accepted using the enter key. - Buttons and menus have not been assigned access keys. Very good guidance regarding proper implementation details is available in Microsoft's UI design guidelines: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dn742465.aspx

Clement, Burp Enterprise uses a web interface. Additionally, we have a long term plan to make a web interface for Burp Pro. Unfortunately, we can't provide an ETA.
