Burp Chrome Browser not loading any sites

Scott | Last updated: Apr 23, 2024 08:12PM UTC

I'm not able to load any websites using the Burp Chrome browser. The intercepting proxy is not enabled, so i know that's not the issue. What's odd is that I can load portswigger.net without any issues using the Burp Chrome Browser. Since I can load that site, it seems like that would rule out any weird proxy configuration issues. I am using Burp Professional and I just had to update the license within the last day. I'm not sure if this is related to that or not. The new license file was accepted without issue and it shows an expiration date of March 2025, so I don't think the license is the issue either. any thoughts?

Do you see any errors when you try to connect to other sites? If you clear the browser data (Settings > Tools > Burp Browser), does that help?

I just get the same generic error message for each site i attempt to connect to: Error Failed to connect to website_name.com:80 or website_name.com:443 I tried clearing the browser data as you suggested and that didn't appear to resolve the issue.

Hi Can you email support@portswigger.net with some screenshots or a screen recording of what you see if you visit both https://portswigger.net and https://ginandjuice.shop (our deliberately vulnerable website), please? If you use an external browser, such as Firefox, proxied via Burp, do you see the same results?
